From my trail journal:
3:15 PM, 7/20/2014, Ipsut Falls, 56F, cloudy - Have just arrived. Water was flowing over the foot-log crossing the Carbon River. I chose not to be risky, or to overdo it. The Ranger I spoke to told me the log was dry yesterday. The river flows fast and heavy with silt, however, the sound of tumbling boulders creating a continuous thunder. I am home.
