After spending the weekend with Barry and Liam up at Orr Creek, I was reminded of a loop I’d been wanting to do for some time, having been turned back by snow on my last attempt a few years ago.
So, I parked at the Green Mountain TH along the 5601 Rd, and set out along the Green Mountain Trail #110. In a few hours, I’d made it to the summit. A few hours later, I had descended to Horseshoe Lake and set up camp.
That next morning… snow!
I contemplated spending the entire day in my hammock waiting for the snow to blow over, but lacking extra coffee, I decided to keep to my schedule. I packed up and made it to Chain of Lakes in just a few hours. At that point, the mild weather with occasional light showers turned serious, and it was a soaker all the way down the 5601 Road from Ollalie Lake back to my truck.
