I always enjoy a hike up the Waterworks Canyon in the spring. The flowers are always so effusive and abundant. I forgot to turn my tracker on until I was some way up the canyon, but I had just been following the trail.
In the past, I would hike up to the ridgeline, then head up toward the top of Cleman Ridge. This time, I turned downhill to follow the loop trail, which I had not done before. I was wearing new shoes that were a bit snug, and that proved to be a major mistake. The trip down was very steep, and I jammed my toes something awful. My toenails weren’t so happy by the time I got back to the trailhead.
