20220424 Waterworks Canyon Loop, Oak Creek Wildlife Area

Spring Flowers! A sunny day, a desert canyon, wildflowers, ridge top hiking. This trip had it all. I parked across the hiway from the trailhead at the WA DNR property alongisde the Naches River, just up the road from the Hwy 12 Y, which makes for a nice camp.

The trail heads up the Waterworks canyon, spliting after a short way to offer a choice of routes up. I stayed to the left to continue up the canyon, the trail eventually ends up on a steep shoulder of Cleman Ridge, and ascends to the top, making connections with trails out of the Wenas Wildlife Area.

I explored the top for a bit, then took the trail down a different shoulder to end up at a different trail head on the Old Naches Rd.

It was a gorgeous day, and a great hike.
